About Us

Dr. Maryam Nik,  BSc, DC, RMT, ART, FRCms

Before entering her career path as a doctor of chiropractic, Dr. Nik completed her neuroscience program at University of Toronto. While she was in chiropractic college she was working at BioPed Footcare clinics assessing, casting and making custom orthotics and orthopedic shoes and obtained her C.Ped Tech certification.

In the last 17 years of practice she has managed and worked in wellness clinics, multi-disciplinary rehabilitation clinics, chronic pain clinics and spine centres. She worked closely with chronic pain specialists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, neurologists and a full rehab team. She completed her additional training in spine care through the government funded ISAEC program and practiced as an Advanced Practice Provider for low back pain through Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga while maintaining her position as a director of the spine centre where she developed and implemented treatment programs for a variety of spine conditions. She has extensive experience in treating and assessing different MSK conditions and post-surgical patients and has assisted in spine fluoroscopy guided epidural injections. She is fully trained and certified complete concussion management provider and has completed baseline testing for athletes and has helped many return to play safely post-injury.

She has a patient centered/hands on  practice style utilizing evidence based treatment modalities to help her patients recover from injury and overall improve their physical and mental health. When you join her practice, you will have direct interactions with her during each session and in between. She has invested years of training to excel in diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions and implementing education focused treatment plans that utilize her skills and expertise as a rehab chiropractor, massage therapist and her love for Pilates . If she can't help address your concerns, she has the experience required to provide you with knowledge you need to obtain care from another health care provider/facility and find your way in the complicated healthcare system in Ontario.

She has dedicated most of her career to promote inter-professional collaboration to improve the quality of healthcare our patients receive.  Her goal is to minimize the gap in our healthcare system and help educate her patients so that they can access appropriate care faster. The best healthcare is a combination of traditional and alternative medicine combined with exercise, good nutrition and stress management but to have all providers work together with a common goal is challenging for the healthcare providers so she can only imagine what the patients go through when they require a team for their recovery.

Dr. Nik is a rehab chiropractor which means she assesses and treats all MSK conditions including shoulder, knee, ankle, elbow, hip and wrist injuries in addition to spine care. She uses spinal manipulation when required but not all patients will receive this mode of treatment as every patient's treatment will be customized based on the diagnosis and patient preference.
